Chandelier Trees
In celebration of Leon County’s beautiful trees we have begun discussion to create one or more Chandelier trees which will serve to enhance and compliment Tallahassee place making efforts while literally highlighting our gorgeous Oak trees. Inspiration has been taken from the Silver lake Chandelier tree, seen in the video above.
A collaborative project is being developed between COCA, The Edison Restaurant, the City of Tallahassee and Leon Trees to build the Cascades Park Chandelier Tree. This project would not only draw attention to to Cascades but would enhance the downtown Tallahassee’s “Placemaking” efforts. Placemaking capitalizes on a local community’s assets and in this case Tallahassee’s glorious trees, specifically the Historic Market Oak, and Cascades park the gem of downtown. With, the intention of creating public spaces that promote people’s health, happiness, and well-being.

Leon Trees is currently working with professional story teller Saudra Kelley in developing an event where people will have the opportunity to re-live and tour the original Live Oak Trail..
